Our first full day in Norway is in the books, and let me just say, it was awesome. The weather was great, and we spent the day at two historic sites. The first was the home once owned by Carsten Anker, which was where the Norwegian constitution was penned and signed. It was a very impressive museum, even though the house itself was closed for refurbishing. The second place was an outside museum of homes lived in by Norwegians in the last 2 centuries, all redone to look as if people still lived in them. After these tours, our host families took us our separate ways. I(Jonathan) had the luck to watch a soccer (fotball) match. It was a 4th tier league team vs. a 2nd tier league team. The fans really got excited for the match, although I'd say it was like the Pittsburgh Penguins playing the Johnstown Chiefs (if they still existed). All in all, it was another exciting and successful day. Our hosts couldn't be more gracious. We are all very happy to be here taking part in this exchange.
I apologize that for now, some of the pictures posted don't fit in to the blog center. I'm blogging from an iPad and there are a few issues with compatibility, that I hope to fix soon. Anyway, there will be pics to follow this post. Tomorrow is a vocational day, so we will all be separated shadowing professionals in the area that do the same jobs we do. I probably will only be posting pics tomorrow from my own experience, but hope to get some files from my other team members. Until then, Ha det bra!
