Another successful day is in the books! Our team traveled to Oslo to visit two museums and study some Norwegian culture. We had to travel through tunnels under the fjord, and get this Pittsburghers, THEY DON'T SLOW DOWN AT ALL WHEN ENTERING THE TUNNELS! Ok, enough of that. We had a great day. We first went to the Fram Museum, which houses the famous ship that carried Fridtjof Nansen, a Norwegian national hero on his expedition to the Arctic Circle, and also carried Roald Amundsen on his expedition to Antarctica, as he was the 1st person to reach the south pole. It was truely an awesome exhibit, as we got to actually tour the completely preserved ship, inside and out. Afterwards, we went to the Norwegian Folk Museum, which contained lots of cultural artifiacts and architecture spanning the history of Norway, including one of the famously pictured Stave Churches. Unfortunately, that church was under restoration, and there was a humongous tarp placed over it, so we didn't get to see it. However, the rest of the museum was awesome. We then ended our day in Oslo, by hiking along a beach on the fjord. Overall it was a great day. Pictures are to follow, but it may take a while, as my camera's battery died because I took so many pictures, so I have to recharge it. Keep coming back to check for updates! Ha det bra!
